How To Fight Banks
I chuckled while watching Star Wars: Attack of the Clones during the scene when narrow-headed aliens said "The banking clan will sign your treaty".
How appropriate, I thought.
Some people view banks as perhaps a necessary evil. I mean, how do you cash your pay without a bank account? We are conditioned from young to be good and save our moolah in the bank which pays us interest so our money will grow.
Others have had real negative experiences dealing with their bank and have nothing good to say about them.
Me? I'm kinda ambivalent about the whole debate. But being a closet anti-establishment type, I'm open to occasionally listening to the radical views on this subject.
I recently bought a copy of the book How To Represent Yourself in Court To Fight Banks. Written by a Malaysian, William Chan, it seems. Perusing the book objectively, one feels that banks can be more predatory than meets the eye. If you think your hard-earned money is safe and sound in your bank's custody, you may want to think again.
Reading it, I recalled how my own uncle had handled his own court case himself, without any legal representation and in the end he actually won.
Anyone knows that good legal services are seldom cheap. If one is properly prepared, one can wage his or her own legal battles and save a bundle too.
The point I'm getting at is, any Malaysian who has ever had to deal with an oppressive bank should seriously read this book. Packed with valuable information including a step by step guide on how to represent yourself in court, it seems a bargain at just RM15 a copy.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the whole issue?
